Lino block print on mulberry paper.
The maps layered on the pattern cite the relationship of place and time on the body as it makes reference to the cartography of the body itself. There is a slippage and the signifiers loose relationship with the signified as the two systems collide. Ambiguity blurs the meaning as the grain lines of the pattern are read as directional lines of the map. The cultural meanings implicit in the language of mapping and tailoring create new narratives and become a personal and private mapping of identity.
